The Office Administration program prepares students to make a positive impact on the companies they will work for. The program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to manage budgets, people, processes, and projects, providing the tools to succeed in any administrative role. The program focuses on developing both the non-technical and technical skills that are essential for success in the workplace. A well-rounded education is the key to building a strong foundation for a successful career. That’s why this program utilizes instructional technologies that expose students to “real world” scenarios they are likely to experience over the course of their careers.
This program offers several specializations, allowing each student to tailor their education to individual interests and career goals. With the opportunity to complete up to 4 bachelor-level courses that are applied to the Office Administration program, students can get a head start on their Bachelor’s degree, should they choose to pursue this credential. Program faculty are committed to providing you with the education, training, and support each student needs to succeed in their career. Faculty members are experts in their fields, and they are dedicated to helping each learner achieve their goals. By providing students with a high-quality education, they will be able to make a positive contribution to the companies that employ them.

Associate of Applied Science: 60 Credit Hours
Foundations
Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond. They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build. Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not all of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.
Knowledge Building
Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level. It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.
Preparing For Completion
These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps. Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation. You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.

Specialization and Elective Options
Students may enhance their degree by completing any of the available 12 credit hour specializations listed below. All courses listed must be successfully complete to earn the specialization. Students not wanting to specialize may complete their 12 required elective hours by selecting any combination of courses from specialization areas.

Office Administration Certificate: 30 Credit Hours
Occupational Skills Award: Office Administation
Upon completion of this occupational skills awards, students will gain an in‐depth understanding in multiple business applications that will assist them in solving problems and creating better business solutions. They will learn how to produce effective business documents across various communication channels, and how to research, organize, and present the information in different modalities. Bundling these courses gives students an edge because they will have the technical knowledge, as well as the soft skills needed to succeed and advance in their career field.
Note: Students who have successfully completed POFI2301 and POFI1349 will be eligible to pursue Microsoft Word Expert and Microsoft Excel Expert Certification.
Occupational Skills Award: Medical Coding
Many allied health professions require students to be conversant when using medical terminology. Once completing this occupational skills award, students will have the skills to secure an entry level position within a provider organization, having the ability to correctly use medical terminology in everyday communication and engage in medical coding and billing as a competent professional.
Note: Students who receive this award should be well prepared to pursue certification as a Billing and Coding Specialist through the National Healthcareer Association.
