Criminal Justice AAS - Peace Officer Specialty


This degree plan is designed for those who have completed the Law Enforcement Academy (LEA) and want to pursue their degree.  While the twenty (23) credit hours earned in the Law Enforcement Academy are listed first, students may complete other coursework required for this degree prior to entering the LEA.

Associate of Applied Science: 60 Credit Hours


Foundations


Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond.  They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build. The foudation of this degree plan is the successful completion of the Law Enforcement Academy (LEA).

Knowledge Building


Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level.  It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.

Preparing for Completion


These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps.  Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation at the Admission’s Office.  You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.

1: Students who completed the Law Enforcement Academy prior to the introduction of CJLE 1329  may fulfill this requirement by completing CRIJ 2323 Legal Aspects of Law Enforcement  or another Criminal Justice course approved by the Program Chair.
