Kinesiology Transfer Plan: Texas A&M University

The pathway below is designed to facilitate transfer to Texas A&M University for students planning to complete a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology.

  • Work with your ACE it coach or a counselor/advisor early in your pathway to customize this plan.
  • Consult a transfer advisor at Texas A&M.
  • Visit the Texas A&M Catalog to ensure transfer requirements are met.

Pathway Notes:

  • While an Associate of Science degree at Brazosport College requires 60 credit hours, the following pathway includes 58 credit hours, applicable to the Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Texas A&M.  Texas A&M accepts up to 60 transferable hours toward this degree.
  • There are multiple options for earning this degree at Texas A&M.  The courses included in the transfer plan below are common to all options.  Other courses may be added and taken at Brazosport College depending the chosen degree option.  Students are encouraged to speak with their coach or advisor to determine if there are other courses that should be added.

Foundations

Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond.  They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build.  Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not all of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.

Knowledge Building

Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level.  It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.

Preparing For Completion

These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps.  Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation at the Admission’s Office.  You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.

Note

1: MATH 1314 College Algebra  is a prerequisite course for MATH 1325 Business Calculus . Students who have taken advanced mathematics courses in Precalculus or Calculus may contact the Division Chair of Mathematics and Life Sciences to request a waiver.
