Admissions Requirements: Baccalaureate Programs

Admission applications will be accepted for review from all individuals who meet the following requirements:

1. College level skills in reading, writing, and mathematics as evidenced by approved placement testing (TSI Complete) or previous college-level coursework.
2. Attained junior standing, defined as having earned at least 60 college level semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university.
3. Applicant is within 18 semester hours of completing the lower division coursework. If you are taking courses to fulfill this requirement prior to the term in which you wish to begin the bachelor’s program, please note the classes in which you are enrolled or plan to enroll on the application. 
4. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater in previously attempted coursework.

Admission to the bachelor’s program is based on such factors as grade point average (GPA), the lower division coursework you’ve completed, as well as the content in your personal statement. Applications are reviewed by the BAT Admissions Committee and recommended to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs for admission to the program.

Note 1: With permission of the Program Coordinator, qualified students who do not meet the admission requirements noted above, may take up to six upper division credit hours, so long as they can meet the admission requirements by the next Fall or Spring semester following the completion of these 6 hours. The 6 hours of upper division credit may be counted towards the 60 credit hour requirement for program admission. Qualified students are those who have completed any necessary course prerequisites, at the college level in reading, writing, and mathematics (TSI complete), and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Junior status is achieved by having earned at least 60 college-level semester credit hours.

Note 2: Students admitted to the program who are at junior status, but have more than 18 semester credit hours of lower division coursework remaining to complete may be granted provisional admission to the program and will be required to work with the BAT Advisor, Program Coordinator, or Division Chair to enroll in upper and lower division coursework as is appropriate for their situation.

Note 3: Students wishing to apply previously earned credit to this degree must submit requests for substitutions within the first 5 terms of being enrolled in the bachelor program.
