Business Programs Transfer Plan: Texas Southern University

The pathway below is designed to facilitate transfer to the Jessie H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University for students planning to complete a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with majors in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, and Marketing.

  • Work with a Pathways coach or a counselor/advisor early in your pathway to customize this plan.
  • Consult a transfer advisor at Texas Southern University
  • Visit the Jessie H. Jones School of Business Web Site to ensure transfer requirements are met.
  • While an Associate of Arts degree at Brazosport College requires 60 credit hours, the following pathway includes 65 credit hours, applicable to the Bachelor of Business Administration at Texas Southern.
  • Students completing this transfer plan also complete the Texas Direct Field of Study: Business Administration , guaranteeing transfer of all credit.

Foundations

Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond.  They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build.  Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not all of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.

Knowledge Building

Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level.  It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.

Preparing For Completion

These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps.  Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation.  You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.

Note

1: MATH 1314 College Algebra  is a prerequisite course for MATH 1325 Business Calculus . Students who have taken advanced mathematics courses in Precalculus or Calculus may contact the Division Chair of Mathematics and Life Sciences to request a waiver.
