Engineering Transfer Plans: Texas A&M University
|
|
The pathway below is designed to facilitate transfer to Texas A&M University for students planning to complete a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering. This pathway applies to each Engineering program at Texas A&M, including Chemical, Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering.
- Work with your ACE it coach or a counselor/advisor early in your pathway to customize this plan.
- Consult a transfer advisor at Texas A&M.
- Visit the Texas A&M Catalog to ensure transfer requirements are met.
Pathway Notes:
- While an Associate of Science degree at Brazosport College requires 60 credit hours, the following pathway includes 64 credit hours, applicable to a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering at Texas A&M.
- The math requirements in this pathway begin with MATH 2413 Calculus I , which is the first mathematics course applicable to this degree. Some students may be required to take a prerequisite course(s) prior to enrollment.

Foundations
Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond. They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build. Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not all of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.
Knowledge Building
Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level. It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.
Preparing For Completion
These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps. Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation. You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.
Note
1: Most engineering majors at Texas A&M require CHEM 107/117: General Chemistry for Engineering Students, which does not have a direct equivalent at Brazosport College. Transfer students may satisfy this requirement by taking both CHEM 1311 General Chemistry I /CHEM 1111 AND CHEM 1312 General Chemistry II /CHEM 1112 .
2: Course is required for Chemical, Civil, and Electrical programs at Texas A&M University.
