The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Technology program is designed to develop student’s skills necessary to establish a career as a professional in the field of computer and information technology. Brazosport College’s computer technology AAS degree offers students a learning schedule to access the coursework at the times that work best for them. The flexibility of online learning and strong student support allows access to higher education regardless of students’ location or circumstances.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment in computer and information systems technology roles is projected to grow 13 percent from 2020 through 2030 - much faster than the average of all other occupations. In addition, the median annual wage for computer and information systems technology occupations was higher than the median annual wage for all occupations. The Information Systems Networking Specialist (ISNS) certificate and degree programs are based on strategically designed, versatile and diverse curricula that are anchored in our commitment to the vibrant IT industry as it continues to grow.
The AAS Degree and Certificate Programs in ISNS will introduce students to concepts including principles of computer hardware components and software, programming, databases, networking and network hardware, network administration, routers and switches, web development, desktop, and network operating systems. Graduates of ISNS may be prepared and pursue many different careers, including Computer Network Technology Specialist, IT Helpdesk Specialist, Network Analyst, and Network and System Administrator.
