A study of classical and molecular genetics, emphasizing Mendelian inheritance, population genetics, genetic variation, genetic engineering, and evolutionary processes. Topics include the relationship between gene mutations and disease, the application of genetic technologies, and the role of genetics in agriculture, biotechnology, and human health. Critical thinking and the application of genetic principles to biological and societal issues are emphasized. Credit Hours: 3 (3 lecture, 0 lab)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of BIOL 1306.
