TMGT 4341 - Production and Materials Management CIP 5202020036 This study of supply chain management is a course that examines the responsibilities related to managing the flow of materials and services into organization. Traditional purchasing activities of global sourcing, bidding, contract administration and materials management are included in the course. Particular focus is given to the strategic issues of managing the supply function and the creative purchasing activities of developing buying strategy, supply research, economic analysis, value analysis, supplier certification and evaluation, and information systems analysis. This course also addresses manufacturing planning and control systems, including capacity planning, scheduling, and just-in-time production systems. Credit Hours: 3 (3 lecture, 0 lab) Required skill level: College-level reading, writing and math.
