COSC 2425 - Computer Organization CIP 1102015407 The organization of computer systems is introduced using assembly language. Topics include basic concepts of computer architecture and organization, memory hierarchy, data types, computer arithmetic, control structures, interrupt handling, instruction sets, performance metrics, and the mechanics of testing and debugging computer systems. Embedded systems and device interfacing are introduced. Credit Hours: 4 (3 lecture, 2 lab) Prerequisite: COSC 1436 OR ITSE 1302 OR ITSE 1332 OR approval of the division chair. Required skill level: College-level reading and writing. Math: College-level with corequisite (placement code 3).
