Transitional Educational Courses

Students will be placed in transitional education courses if the TSIA2 exam indicates a need for review or development of entry-level college skills. Brazosport College offers the following transitional education courses.

Mathematics Courses (Algebra/Algebra Pre Cal Pathways): MATH 0471 Foundations of Mathematics MATH 0372 Foundations of Algebra MATH 0114 College Algebra Corequisite

Mathematics Courses (Statistics/Quantitative Reasoning Pathways): MATH 0471 Foundations of Mathematics MATH 0132 Quantitative Reasoning Corequisite , MATH 0142 Statistics Corequisite

Credit for Prior Learning

Brazosport College offers various ways that a student can receive credit for prior learning. We offer credit by examination, Advanced Placement (AP) Exams, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), and prior learning assessment (PLA).

A minimum of 6 semester credit hours must be earned at Brazosport College before credit will be posted to the student’s transcript. A maximum of 24 hours may be earned by exam and up to 75% of coursework through PLA credit may be earned, saving time and money.

For further information visit Credit for Prior Learning or contact the Testing Center Coordinator.
