Digital Media Communication


The Associate of Applied Science in Digital Media Communication prepares students for careers in the rapidly evolving world of digital content creation, multimedia storytelling, and strategic communication. Through hands-on, project-based learning, students develop practical skills in digital imaging, video and audio production, web design, social media content, branding, and communication strategy. The program emphasizes creativity, technical proficiency, collaboration, and professional communication while helping students build a portfolio of work that reflects real-world industry expectations.

Designed to meet the growing workforce demand for digital media professionals across business, industry, nonprofit organizations, and public service sectors, the program offers flexible pathways and stackable credentials that support both immediate employment and continued education. Students may choose specialized areas of study including digital media, visual communications, audio/video production, public relations and communication strategy, and eSports media. Graduates will be prepared for a variety of careers in digital communications, media production, marketing support, content creation, and multimedia design in today’s technology-driven economy.

Associate of Applied Sciences: 60 Credit Hours


Foundations


Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond.  They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build.  Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not all of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.

Knowledge Building


Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level.  It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.

Preparing for Completion


These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps.   Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation.  You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.

Specialization and Elective Options


Students may enhance their degree by completing any of the available 12 credit hour specializations listed below.  All courses listed must be successfully complete to earn the specialization.  Students not wanting to specialize may complete their 12 required elective hours by selecting any combination of courses from specialization areas.
