Esports Business & Multimedia Management


The Associate of Applied Science in Esports Business and Multimedia Management prepares students for careers in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the global economy by combining foundational business knowledge with specialized training in esports operations, digital media production, and content management. Students gain hands-on experience in areas such as event planning, live streaming, social media and community management, and esports team operations, culminating in a capstone experience where they plan and execute live esports events. The program also offers customizable specializations in game business, video content creation, and audio/podcasting, equipping graduates with a versatile skill set aligned with modern digital and entertainment industries.

The program is supported by strong industry demand and rapid economic growth. The U.S. video game industry generates nearly $107 billion annually, with global revenues exceeding $200 billion, making it the largest segment of the entertainment industry. Esports alone is projected to surpass $1.6 billion in revenue, with continued double-digit growth and a global audience exceeding 500 million viewers. Career opportunities span business management, marketing, event production, digital content creation, and technology roles, reflecting a dynamic workforce ecosystem with expanding job opportunities and increasing demand for skilled professionals.

Foundations


Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond.  They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build.  Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not all of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.

Knowledge Building


Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level.  It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.

Preparing for Completion


These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps.   Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation.  You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.

Specialization and Elective Options


Students may enhance their degree by completing any of the available 12 credit hour specializations listed below.  All courses listed must be successfully complete to earn the specialization.  Students not wanting to specialize may complete their 12 required elective hours by selecting any combination of courses from specialization areas.
