Healthcare Administration

Healthcare is one of the fastest‑growing and most essential industries in the United States, and it needs strong leaders behind the scenes. As healthcare spending continues to grow and the population ages, organizations need skilled professionals who understand how to manage people, programs, finances, and regulations. Advances in technology and frequent changes in healthcare laws make this field both challenging and rewarding.  Healthcare is also one of the most highly regulated industries in the country. Every hospital, clinic, and healthcare organization must meet strict standards to protect patients and ensure quality care. Healthcare administrators play a critical role in making sure these organizations operate efficiently, follow the law, and stay financially healthy, so clinicians can focus on what they do best: caring for patients.

Graduates of the Associate of Healthcare Administration program can work in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, physician offices, outpatient clinics, insurance companies, long‑term care facilities, public health agencies, and healthcare support organizations. Healthcare administrators help keep operations running smoothly by coordinating day‑to‑day activities, supervising staff, supporting compliance with healthcare regulations, managing resources, and working with government agencies and auditors. If you’re organized, detail‑oriented, and interested in making a real impact in healthcare without providing direct patient care, this program can open the door to a meaningful and in‑demand career.

Foundations

Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond.  They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build.  Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not all of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.

Knowledge Building

Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level.  It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.

Preparing For Completion

These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps.   Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation.  You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.
