Recommended Course Sequence - Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) Certificate

The Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program is a full-time, 1.5 year plan of study that prepares students for entry-level nursing practice. Upon successful completion of program, Brazosport College, and the Texas Board of Nursing requirements, graduates earn a certificate in vocational nursing and are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN exam. Admission is competitive and requires completion of prerequisites, the HESI A2 and Critical Thinking exams, background checks, and clinical clearances. Students complete classroom and hospital-based clinical training across Brazoria and Matagorda Counties, with schedules that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Employment during the program is not recommended due to the intensive time commitment.
