Occupational Skills Award: Basic Nursing Skills

Students who receive the Basic Nursing Skills OSA will have successfully demonstrated competency in the following interventions:

• Hand hygiene
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Bed making
• Hygiene
• Range of Motion/Positioning
• Nasogastric tube insertion/removal
• Tube feeding
• Enema administration
• Ostomy care
• Vital signs
• Physical assessment

Upon completions, successful students are eligible to take the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification exam.
