The AAS in Cloud Computing at Brazosport College is designed to prepare students to facilitate an organization’s critical technology infrastructure in enterprise and cloud-based platforms. System, Network and Cloud professionals guide the selection and integration of the technology products that constitute the organizations’ planning, decision making and operational infrastructure. In addition, tools are employed to automate infrastructure, workflows and continually measuring application performance by building collaborative infrastructure between development, cloud systems, networking, security, and Operations.
A survey conducted in 2019, indicated that 90% of organizations reported severe shortages of workers with cloud skills. Nearly 80% of IT managers and leaders report their current teams lack the needed cloud computing skills. Some of the many companies leading the transition to cloud computing and hiring for cloud skills include Yelp, Etsy, Pinterest, Amazon, AirBnB, Netflix, GE, Capitol One, and Google.
