Office Administration: Information Processing Specialty

Brazosport College’s classes offer hands-on, real-world training - taught by experienced instructors. Employers work with the college to offer co-op classes where you can earn income while you’re learning.  Office administrators work with many types of computer software to perform tasks previously handled by managers. Some professionals choose to be generalists, while others specialize. Businesses in the local area need qualified professionals who can step into a position and become the office expert. With each type of specialty, you are prepared to step into different office environments. If you’re ready for a promotion or even want to start your own business, then enroll today.

Full Time Course Sequence: AAS Degree, Certificate

Associate of Applied Science: 60 Credit Hours

Foundations

Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond.  They provide the knowledge and skills upon which other courses will build.  Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not all of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.

Knowledge Building

Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level.  It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.

Preparing For Completion

These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps.  Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation at the Admission’s Office.  You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.

Note

1Approved elective substitutions for Cooperative Education courses require division chair approval prior to registration in the elective course.
