As core members of scientific teams, chemical lab technicians are at the heart of operations in the chemical industry, helping to get quality products and services to customers. The chemical technician’s job varies depending on the needs of the company. In the Brazosport area most chemical technicians jobs are in one or more of the following areas: (1) Analytical Services; (2) Environmental Services; (3) Technical Services and Development; (4) Production; and (5) Research.

Brazosport College offers co-op internships where you can earn income while gaining valuable experience. BC has excellent relationships with area employers which helps open doors of opportunity to graduate.

Associate of Applied Science: 60 Credit Hours

Foundations

Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond. They provide the knowledge and skills upon which the other courses will build. Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete most if not of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.

These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps. Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation at the Admission’s Office. You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.
