Criminal Justice Transfer Plan: Texas State University


The pathway below is designed to facilitate transfer to the Texas State University for students planning to complete a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. 

  • Work with your ACE it coach or a counselor/advisor early in your pathway to customize this plan.
  • Consult a transfer advisor at Texas State University.
  • Visit the Texas State Criminal Justice Page to ensure transfer requirements are met. 
  • While an Associate of Arts degree at Brazosport College requires 60 credit hours, the following pathway includes 59 credit hours, applicable to the Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Texas State University. 

Foundations


Foundations courses provide the footing for the remainder of the Associates Degree and beyond.  They provide the knowledge and skills upon which the other courses will build.  Whether attending full or part time, plan to complete the most if not of Foundations prior to taking courses under Knowledge Building or Preparing for Completion.

Knowledge Building


Knowledge Building courses expand upon foundational learning and develop skills at a deeper level.  It is recommended that students complete these courses prior to moving forward to Preparing for Completion.

Preparing for Completion


These courses provide capstone knowledge and skills, which prepares students for their next steps.  Before beginning the third set of courses in this pathway, complete the Application for Graduation at the Admission’s Office.  You should also meet with your coach/advisor to begin preparing applications for transfer.

Note


1: MATH 1342 Statistics  is the recommened course only if student plans to comple the General Education Core  at Brazosport College before transfering.

2: Texas State Univeristy requires foriegn language if the student did not complete two years of foreign language in high school.  Student may select omit these courses if foreign language requirement is met with high school credit.
