AMPT 3330 - Industrial Safety and Ergonomics CIP 1506130011 This course covers basic safety practices and standards used by businesses in manufacturing industries. Students will identify and describe the roles of different safety standards & regulatory agencies such as OSHA, NFPA, HAZMAT, DOT &, etc. We will investigate how engineering controls and personal protective equipment are used for accident prevention; review human physical and psychological relationships to the work environment with regards to ergonomics and accident prevention; study the business cost impact of safety; and design and build safety into the production process. Credit Hours: 3 (3 lecture, 0 lab) Required skill level: College level reading, writing, and math.
